
If you've got Chinese on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Called Chengdu Famous Food, the newcomer is located at 3635 Lancaster Ave. in Powelton Village.
The new restaurant, which had its grand opening on July 1st, offers a variety of traditional Chinese dishes from Sichuan, a province in southwest China. The two-page menu boasts items such as beef dry pot ($14.96), pork with garlic sauce ($10.96), mapo tofu ($9.96) and a signature Chengdu burger. (See the full menu here.)
With a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, Chengdu Famous Food has gotten a good response.
Yelper Xizhi T. said: “This is so far the most authentic Chinese food I've ever had in philly! Coming from the southwestern of china and I miss the food a lot in us. The noodles are rich and delicious. The specialties are soooooo good!"
And J L. said: "I really liked this place. The food portions were smaller than what I was expecting and but the food tasted good. My friend got Dan Dan Noodles and I got the LiBai's pork belly. Good choice for spicy food in the Powelton area."
