
If you've got New American on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The new arrival to Fremont, called SWeL, is located at 3417 Evanston Ave N. (between 35th St & 34th St). The new eatery, which stands for "Stuff We Like to Eat," is the newest addition to the Center of the Universe.
Expect a menu filled with appetizers, such as oysters ($16), bruschetta ($9), house made jalapeño hummus ($10) and more, in addition to salads, pizza and entrees. Desserts include gelato (chocolate, peanut butter, stracciatella, affogato), chocolate chip cookies, bolas dulces and a flourless mousse cake for $5-$7. (See the full menu here.)
SWeL has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp.
Katherine V., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 17th, said: "Love, love, love this place! The cocktails are on point, delicious food (the pizzas, sauteed calamari, pork chop, and Caesar salad are all amazing), the ambiance is both cozy and modern awesome wine list and great service."
Yelper Libby M. added: “So excited such a delicious place opened so close to where I live. Our dinner was fantastic: bruschetta with goat cheese, seafood linguini, salmon, and and bolas dulces for dessert!"
And Samantha D. said: "Checked out this new spot in the neighborhood and it did not disappoint! We were looking for a casual dinner and our first choice was shut down so we decided to wander a bit."
Listed at two dollar signs on Yelp, you can expect to spend $11-$30 per person on a visit to SWeL.
