Got a hankering for a burger but want something a little more upscale? Blacksmiths, a new American eatery, has recently debuted in DTLA at 117 Winston St.
Blacksmiths bills itself as a spot serving "fresh contemporary cuisine brought to you by Chef Edgar," and drinks created by "renowned mixologist Deysi Alvarez."
There's a wide array of breakfast items to choose from, like an egg breakfast sandwich (over hard eggs, crisp bacon, American cheese, fresh spinach, tomato on french baguette), pancakes, omelets, and breakfast pastas.
For lunch and dinner, there's a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, burgers, mussels and clams, and fresh salads such as a beet salad with heirloom tomatoes and burrata, or an octopus salad with pickled onions and micro greens.
With a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Blacksmiths seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Jerry M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 6th, said: "I went to a pre opening dinner. I was very impressed. This a a gorgeous looking restaurant. Outdoor patio. Tall ceilings inside. Very well appointed interior and a great looking bar. I was hoping."
Yelper Brandon S. added: “Great new place in downtown LA. Very nice outdoor patio, good music, and great vibe. Our new friend Roy behind the bar was great and helped us pick out some amazing drinks.”
And Zhanna T. said: "Great food, drinks, and and service. The tuna tartare and mussels and scallop dishes were amazing!"
Blacksmiths is now open at 117 Winston St., so stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood.
