A new bar and restaurant has made its debut in the neighborhood. The new addition to Venice, called Neighbor, is located at 1031 Abbot Kinney Blvd.

Neighbor serves casual American fare and small plates meant to be enjoyed with a cocktail at the bar. The evening menu features starters and bar bites like garden peas  with burrata, cashew-dukkah, and flowering mint; potato ricotta-gnocchi (asparagus, morels, parmesan, and opal basil), and Dungeness crab (sweet gem lettuce, buttermilk, dill, and juniper).

For the mains, Neighbor offers items like the lamb saddle with eggplant and lime pickle; prime strip steak (crushed potato, shallot, green watercress, brown butter), and Pacific king salmon with wax bean, miso-mustard and peanut.

Rounding things out are desserts like local apricot with Amaretti cookies and almond cream, and cocktails like the "Kimmy Gimlet" (vodka, lime, basil, and sugar). Check out the full menu here.

The new bar has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.

Derek T., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 26th, said: "Great addition to the neighborhood Neighbor! Friendly staff all around, great music selections, and tasty drinks and loved the food! Good vibes where you could come in solo and enjoy a seat."

Yelper Chloe C. added: “**3.5 for food, but space brings it up to a 4** The loungey restaurant that you always thought was on Abbot Kinney is finally here. With hip retro vibes, and a sprawling patio and a flamingo theme.”
