A new sushi bar and Japanese spot, offering poke and more, has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located at 7077 Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, the fresh arrival is called Poke on the Roll.
Poke on the Roll bills itself as a spot to grab quick, quality sushi and poke rolls on the go. With customized ordering capabilities at tablet kiosks near the counter, guests can order any combination of ingredients they want and have it served up as a sushi roll or in a bowl.
You can also create your own style of sushi burrito with variety of choices including sashimi, vegetables, and teriyaki options. Or try the California roll or teriyaki chicken roll, if you're feeling a little less daring.
The new sushi bar has gotten off to a solid start thus far, with a four-star rating out of 19 reviews on Yelp.
Alex K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 12th, said: "Mission: finally a poke place close to my house and can't wait to try it. Drove by this place many times and even spoke about it with the wifey. "
And Sharon H. said: "Such a cool poke restaurant! It's completely different from traditional poke places I've been before. It's designed so that you walk in the place and use to the kiosks to place an order. "
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Poke on the Roll is open daily from 11:30am–10pm.
