If barbecue is what you're after, look no further than this new business. Called the YARDBIRD, the new arrival is located at 1147 E Colorado St. in Glendale.

The Yardbird bills itself as "a concept project that brings old school backyard BBQ inspiration to life." Brothers Daniel and Chris Skaf, who also run Skaf's Lebanese Cuisine, are now "serving up made to fire grilled Cornish hens along with comfort Cali fresh sides."

The menu is simple, with a whole barbecued hen or half for the main course, and a selection of glazes, like chipotle honey lime, garlic herb, BBQ or "naked".

Each order comes with a selection of two side; choose from options like the Mac (macaroni pasta, three cheese cream sauce topped with a buttery panko crumb), the Cali Slaw (kale, red and green cabbage, brussels spouts, carrots, cranberries in a rice wine vinegar), or fried cauliflower (in a red spice mix, salt, and parsley). (You can check out the full menu here.)

The new arrival has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 27 reviews on Yelp.

Naji H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 25th, said: "Being a long time fan of Skaf's Lebanese cuisine, I have been waiting for their grilled cornish hen to open."

Yelper Freddy D. added: “Nice clean place with friendly people.”

And Ciara S. said: "Gave them a try today and will come back tomorrow, guess that says a lot! hahaha Okay maybe not tomorrow but soon for sure. We had the whole cornish hen, and chose the chipotle sauce."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: The YARDBIRD is open daily from 11am–10pm.
