If desserts are what you're after, look no further than this new business. The new addition to Melrose, called Cold Rolled Ice Cream Company, is located at 7266 Melrose Ave.
"Cold Rolled Ice Cream Co. was born out of four guys’ love for ice cream and the search for the most innovative preparation and flavors in existence," according to the business. Settling on the en vogue Thai-style of rolled ice cream, the company opened its doors for business August 21st.
The process, which includes refreezing the ice cream on a sub-zero metal plate until malleable, sees the finished product rolling up, finished with toppings and service in a cup. The cream base used for all Cold Rolled's ice cream creations are certified organic, kosher and non-GMO.
The creamery features flavors like matcha green tea (green tea ice cream, red bean paste, mochi, topped with a green tea Pocky stick), "Toasted Mango Coconut Rush" (mango ice cream, fresh mango, toasted coconut and chili powder), and white chocolate pistachio (pistachio ice cream, white chocolate drizzle and pistachio pieces).
Cold Rolled Ice Cream Company has just one review on Yelp, which gives it a four-star rating thus far.
Khoi T., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on August 27th, said: "Delicious ice cream made with organic and non GMO bases and all rolled up into a cup for your enjoyment. An appealing factor at this place is that your dessert is hand crafted directly in front of you're eyes."
