Noodle and dumpling fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. Located at 2904 S Figueroa St. in University Park, the fresh arrival is called Northern Cafe.
Northern Cafe specializes in Chinese dumplings, with an extensive menu featuring items like pork and crab dumplings, beef or pork and winter melon xiao mai, and pan-fried pot stickers.
Look for noodle dishes on the menu, too, like pickled pepper beef noodle soup with beef shank and baby bok choy, dan dan noodles in a sesame broth, cold noodles with shredded chicken and more.
With a three-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, Northern Cafe has received mixed feedback—but it's still early days.
Kenny N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 19th, said: "I like this place, pretty good food, and reasonably priced. What Northern Cafe offers is more diverse and ethnic selection to the USC community. + Decent flavor for their Soup Dumplings."
