A new bar and New American spot, offering tapas and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Gather Kitchen + Bar, the new addition is located at 5605 22nd Ave NW. (between 57th St & 56th St) in Adams.
This new spot features a variety of appetizers, charcuterie, entrees and an array of signature cocktails.
On the starters and charcuterie menu, expect to see items like flank steak "jerky" marinated in lemongrass, ginger and fish sauce and beef tartare with caper emulsion, fried shallots, artichoke, and basil.
For mains, look for dishes like Wild Alaskan ling cod with coriander broth, bok choy, and curry; and braised beef cheek with Parisian gnocchi, red onion marmalade, and sunchoke puree.
Signature cocktails include the "Gather Corpse Reviver" with gin, Solerno orange liqueur, Cocchi Americano, and St. George absinthe; and the "Velo de Flor" with fino sherry, simple syrup, lemon juice, egg white, and nutmeg. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a four-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival is getting solid feedback from clientele.
Dominque D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 12th, said: "Came here to watch the game and have a beer. Decided to double down on the fried food and got fried cauliflower and then finished with the fried chicken. The fried chicken is so so good!"
Yelper Briana S. added: “We were really excited for a new restaurant to hit the neighborhood. Lots of good reviews and high hopes. We started with the jerky, which was the best thing."
