A new spot to score poke bowls and more has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Aloha Poke, the fresh addition is located at 818 W Fullerton Ave. (between Chalmers St. & Lincoln Ave.) in Sheffield & DePaul.
Aloha Poke—which has another location in the West Loop, and plans to open dozens more around Chicago—specializes in poke bowls with fresh marinated fish and a variety of toppings.
Customers start with a base for their bowl like white or brown rice and mixed greens; then select a protein like tuna, salmon or tofu; add seasonings like ginger, scallion or tobiko; and finally top it off with a sauce like wasabi, sesame oil, or yuzu ranch.
There are signature bowls on the menu as well, like the "Aloha" with pineapple, cucumber, jalapeño and more. (You can view the full menu here.)
With a five-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Chelsia L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 5th, said: "So excited this location opened up! It's definitely more spacious with more seating options and a restroom which is better than their Belmont location."
Yelper Tim S. added: “Wow!! My wife and I were first-time customers today and it was fantastic. It exceeded expectations. The food was absolutely delicious and portions were more than generous.”
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Aloha Poke is open daily from 10am–10pm.
