Craving pizza and ice cream? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 2513 Tulip St. in Fishtown/Lower Kensington, the fresh arrival is called Lil Lina's Slices & Scoops.
This new spot features a variety of pizza options, as well as housemade ice cream, shakes and more.
On the pizza menu, expect to see pies like the "Traditional Trenton Pie" with a cracker-thin crust, cheese blend, and tomato sauce; the "White Pie" with mozzarella and ricotta cheese; and a margherita pie with hand-crushed tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and fresh basil.
There are signature pizzas as well, like "Pizza the Hutt," with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, and prosciutto, and "Stef the Greek," with feta cheese, fresh spinach, tomatoes, red onions, garlic, and Kalamata olives.
The housemade ice cream is also available in signature sundaes like the "Little Monkey," with banana chocolate chip ice cream, fresh banana, wet walnuts, hot caramel, whipped cream and a cherry. (You can check out the full menu here.)
Lil Lina's Slices & Scoops has already attracted fans thus far, with a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
T O., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 24th, said: "Wife and I ordered a large Traditional Trenton Pie. WOW. Incredibly delicious. I'm a pizza snob, and with all due respect, nothing in the Fishtown area stands up to this pie, minus Pizzeria Beddia."
Yelper Lilly E. added: “If you didn't make it to their celebration block party opening—you missed out on a fun delicious time! Our group got there around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon and the line for food was out the door.”
And Steven C. said: "This is the best pizza in town and very well priced. They also have homemade ice cream and fountain sodas. Absolutely excellent!"
