New Broadway Gay Bar 'Queer Bar' Opens Its DoorsPhoto: D.F./Yelp

A new gay bar and vegetarian spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. The new addition to Broadway, called Queer Bar, is located at 1518 11th Ave. (between Pike St. & Pine St.)

Queer Bar, which is replacing Purr Cocktail Lounge, is aimed at the LGBTQ+ community in Capitol Hill, with events like drag shows, bingo, and political forums in addition to the standard nightclub fare of drinking and dancing.

The bar also has a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, offering dinner and brunch service from a rotating cast of LGBTQ chefs hailing from both Seattle and other cities. For the opening, Jackson Hole-based Mac Jarvis devised some dishes like lentil galettes and marinated wild mushrooms.

With a 3.5-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival has made a promising start.

Chris M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 10th, said: "I f*ing love this bar. I know it's only been open a few days, but this is what I've always wanted from a Seattle gay bar. It's gorgeous, well lit, and and full of gorgeous guys and girls."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Queer Bar is open daily from 4pm–2am.
