Hungry? A new neighborhood Chinese spot has you covered. The newcomer to Cascade, called Zheng Cafe, is located at 230 6th Ave N. (between Thomas St. & John St.)

The cafe began as Zheng Food Truck, but has since expanded with its first brick-and-mortar location, serving up traditional Wuhan-style comfort food.

On the menu, expect to see a variety of sweet and savory steamed buns, like BBQ pork, scallion, red bean and sweet egg custard.

Other items featured include sweet and sour sugar beef bao with edamame or cucumber salad, Wuhan sesame noodles, and stir-fried tofu with sweet Chinese sausage. (You can check out the menu here.)

The newcomer has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.

Jake M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 18th, said: "In here on the first day, and I gotta admit that I wasn't expecting too much, and but they actually really surprised me by how good everything was!"

Yelper Charley W. added: “We stopped in the day they opened and a few more times since. Authentic home-style Chinese steamed dishes. The wife and I have tried most of their menu at this point and everything's great!”

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Zheng Cafe is open Tuesday–Saturday from 11am–8pm. (It's closed on Sunday and Monday.)
