Hungry? A new neighborhood Chinese spot has you covered. Called Chef Cai Cafe, the newcomer is located at 1004 NE 50th St. (between N 11th Ave & N Roosevelt Way) in The University District.

Specializing in a variety of Chinese fare, Chef Cai offers popular Americanized dishes like General Tso's chicken, walnut shrimp, and hot and sour soup, but it also has some more unusual seafood-centric dishes, like chicken and crab stew and BBQ oysters with garlic. The space itself has received a sleek makeover, with blue walls and modern furniture.

Chef Cai Cafe has just one review on Yelp, which gives it a four-star rating thus far.

Gerald P., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on October 1st, said: "This small cafe-style Chinese restaurant does a decent job with classic American Chinese dishes. But authentic Chinese seafood is really the star here. BBQ oysters and cooked in garlic are fresh, delicious, and well priced."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Chef Cai Cafe is open Tuesday–Sunday from 11am–9pm. (It's closed on Monday.)
