If you've got Asian fusion on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The new addition to Koreatown, called Gogobop Korean Rice Bar, is located at 3456 Wilshire Blvd.
This Korean fusion spot specializes in traditional dishes like kimbop (sushi-like wraps of rice, nori, and fillings like spicy tuna, baby octopus and bulgogi) and rice bowls topped with vegetables and proteins ranging from Korean-style short ribs to tofu. (You can view the full menu here.)
For more adventurous eaters, there are "gorritos," kimbop burritos with some unusual stuffings like American cheese and smoked gouda or anchovies and walnuts. To drink, there are aguas frescas like cucumber mint and hibiscus, as well as iced tea and bottled drinks.
With a five-star rating out of 27 reviews on Yelp so far, Gogobop has already made a good impression.
Bill C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 24th, said: "Great to stumble across new businesses! Sadly, I won't get many chances to frequent this lovely little roll place much more...but that's another story."
Yelper Michael Z. added: “I stumbled upon Gogobop on Yelp and was craving Korean food and so I decided to check things out at this new place. Apparently they just opened on Monday."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Gogobop Korean Rice Bar is open weekdays from 11am–9pm, and Saturday from 11am–7pm. (It's closed on Sunday.)
