A new breakfast and brunch spot, offering coffee and tea and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Ants Pants Cafe, the fresh addition is located at 526 S 4th St. in Society Hill.
This is Ants Pants Cafe's second location; its flagship store is on South Street.
The restaurant is inspired by Sydney, Australia's café culture, and features an array of breakfast and brunch items.
For breakfast, expect to see dishes like maple bacon on focaccia with golden beets, avocado, and an over-medium egg; beef hash with ground sirloin, tomato and onion over shoestring fries; and "The Brekkie" with three eggs, bacon and grilled mushrooms.
Switching over to lunch, look for a chicken ranch sandwich with roasted poblano peppers, cheddar, and bacon; a crispy bacon and feta salad in a balsamic vinaigrette; a veggie sandwich with roasted red pepper, feta, avocado, and fresh basil pesto; and more. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a four-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, Ants Pants Cafe is getting solid feedback from clientele.
Rachel O., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 4th, said: "I was on my way to brunch when I saw Ants Pants finally opened their 4th Street location!"
Yelper Ellen G. added: “Four of us had a late lunch and all cleaned our plates and licked our forks! The espresso milkshake I drank was, well, I'm still thinking about it! We ate a BLT, grilled chicken sandwich, and eggs.”
And Marilyn G. said: "Breakfast menu choices for everyone. Bottomless coffee. Friendly service."
