A new steakhouse has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Gibsons Italia, the new addition is located at 233 N Canal St. in the West Loop.
Gibsons Italia is a new restaurant from Gibsons Restaurant Group, which has nine other concepts and 14 locations throughout Chicago.
While the focus is on Italian-influenced items like frutti di mare with asparagus tips and Meyer lemon, an array of antipasti, house-made pastas, and risotto with scallops and baby leeks, a section of the menu is also dedicated to Gibsons' USDA-certified beef, with filet mignon, a 22oz Chicago cut steak, a long-cut ribeye and more on offer.
The new steakhouse has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.
Julia A., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 15th, said: "Sitting on the river and facing all things iconic, it is seriously the most perfect blend of the Italian food that everyone craves and the steak that Gibsons is known for."
Yelper Michael H. added: “This joint has it all...great food & drinks and amazing views of the city as well as great service! My advice would be to go there and sit at the bar...order an old fashioned.”
