There's a brand-new sushi bar and Thai restaurant in town. Located at 614 S Wabash Ave. (between Balbo Ave & Harrison St) in the Loop, the new arrival is called Mai Tai Sushi and Sake Bar.

While Mai Tai Sushi and Sake bar specializes in sushi and sashimi, the restaurant's signature dish is actually a Thai favorite: pad thai. The menu features an array of Asian-inspired entrees and sides.

On the sushi menu, expect to see mainstays like ahi tuna, salmon, uni, toro, hamachi, and more.

Switching over to the entrees, look for items like cashew chicken, a variety of Thai-style curry and friend rice dishes, and noodle dishes like pad thai and pad see ew.

With a four-star rating out of 11 reviews on Yelp so far, Mai Tai Sushi and Sake Bar is getting solid feedback from clientele.

Tob N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 13th, said: "I love this place. It has very good pad thai and sushi. I had a sashimi platter, which was very good, and chive dumplings. Incredible. It's not easy to find good and fresh sushi around."

And Mllyett C. said: "Did not know this place was already in business until seeing it pop up in Grubhub. Got a sushi roll, pad thai, and and green curry. All ingredients are fresh."

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Mai Tai Sushi and Sake Bar is open Friday and Saturday from 11am–11pm, and Sunday–Thursday from 11am–10pm.
