A new tea room has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 1816 N Milwaukee Ave. (between Oakley Ave. & Moffat St.) in Bucktown, the fresh arrival is called Xuan Tea.

This is the first brick-and-mortar location for Xuan, which previously sold teas primarily through its online store. Guests can sample tea paired with pastries and sweets, learn about the tea-making process, and purchase loose tea to be brewed at home.

On the menu, expect to see an array of Chinese and Japanese loose teas, like ceremonial green matcha, oolong, black teas, scented jasmine pearls and more. (You can view the full line of teas offered here.)

The store also has a selection of tea ware and accessories.

The new tea room has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.

Stephanie B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 19th, said: "I'm a matcha fanatic and it doesn't get better than this. Amazing staff and super chill and welcoming vibe. I'll be there on the reg!"

Yelper Yijing X. added: “Great place for friends to hang out and get together. Best matcha in Chicago, and they have tasty matcha pastries!”

And Karthik R. said: "Excellent customer service. Friendly, knowledgable staff. Great decor and vibe to just unwind and relax or do some work. Gonna be back here a lot!
