If you've got New American on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The fresh addition to the West Loop, called Porter Kitchen and Deck, is located at 150 N Riverside, between Randolph & Lake.
The restaurant specializes in "classic American cuisine in a relaxed setting," with an expansive lunch, dinner and bar menu.
On the lunch menu, look for items like a club sandwich, reuben, lobster roll, steak frites and more.
Switching over to dinner, expect to see items like salmon with lemon and charred broccoli, short rib pappardelle with fennel-crusted beef, crispy brick chicken with roasted garlic and more.

With a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, Porter Kitchen and Deck is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Robert D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 27th, said: "Very impressive venue. The location is top-notch and as you can sit indoors or get a table out on the river. The lunch menu is impressive—had the brussels sprout salad with salmon."
Yelper Naywri W. added: “This is another one by Four Corners Tavern Group. I started out with a Caesar salad. It had potato chips in there. It was very good. Then I had the Porter Burger.”
And David D. said: "Ubersexy without being over pretentious! Extremely scenic and only to be complemented by the food and service. Lunch date with my wife and service was timed perfectly to get back to work."
