A new chicken shop specializing in Portuguese and South African spot has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The fresh addition to the Loop, called Nando's PERi-PERi, is located at 117 E Lake St. (between Stetson Ave. & Beaubien Ct.)
Nando's PERi-PERi—an international chain, which has other locations in Chicago and throughout Illinois, Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.—specializes in grilled chicken flavored with spices from Mozambique.
On the menu, expect to see items like grilled chicken with house signature spices, sandwiches like the chicken pita wrap with sun dried tomatoes, "Nutty Date Chicken Salad" with toasted almonds and feta cheese, and more.
Round things out with a side dish like flame-grilled corn on the cob, Portuguese rice, and red skin potatoes. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a 3.5-star rating out of 23 reviews on Yelp so far, Nando's PERi-PERi is getting solid feedback from clientele.
Amanda S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 29th, said: "I have been to the Nando's on Wabash and so I was excited to see that this one opened on Michigan and Lake. I have tried many of the chicken dishes and even the portobello mushroom wrap."
