If you've got Mexican on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. Called Tropicos Breeze, the fresh arrival is located at 1744 NW Market St. (between N Barnes Ave & N 17th Ave) in Adams.

Tropicos Breeze, which also has a location on Aurora Avenue in Licton Springs, specializes in Latin cuisine, with featured menu items from across various Central and South American cultures.

For breakfast, look for items like huevo con chorizo, huevos rancheros, and baliada, a traditional Honduran dish made with flour tortillas stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, cream, avocado and beans.

On the lunch and dinner side of the menu, expect to see items like pollo frito, Latin-style fried chicken, cabbage salad and sliced green banana; bisteak encebollado, beef sautéed with green pepper, onion and tomatoes; and carne guisada with chicken or beef, potatoes, carrots, and chayote. (You can view the full menu here.)

With a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, Tropicos Breeze seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Lyn J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 24th, said: "Great addition to the neighborhood! I went here for Sunday brunch, and was not disappointed. Their mimosas are delicious and made with fresh orange juice. The pupusas were great."

Yelper Mike H. added: “Love this restaurant! The carne asada molcajete and pupusas are amazing! Best new restaurant in Ballard, and food just as good if not better than their Aurora location.”

And Stephanie R. said: "I have gone to the Tropicos Breeze on Aurora for years, so I was nervous and excited about the Ballard location opening. They did not disappoint, and super friendly and the food is heavenly."

Tropicos Breeze is now open at 1744 NW Market St., so stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood.
