A new Mediterranean fast food spot, offering falafel and more, has made its debut in the neighborhood. Called Al Bacha Restaurant, the newcomer is located at 1833 Broadway (between Howell St. & Denny Way) in Capitol Hill.

This new eatery specializes in a variety of Mediterranean-inspired mainstays like salads, sandwiches, and lunch and dinner plates.

On the menu, look for sandwiches and wraps like falafel with lettuce, tomatoes, and tahini; baba ghanoush with smoked eggplant and garlic; gyro beef and lamb; chicken shawarma, and more.

For the plates, expect to see dishes like kofta kabob with rice, hummus, and salad; chicken kabob with garlic sauce; and a veggie plate with falafel, hummus, and baba ghanoush. (You can check out the full menu here.)

The new addition has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Nichole R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 12th, said: "Unassuming place and the baba ganoush and Greek fries were excellent. The prices were affordable and the service was very good."

Yelper Eli F. added: “I really liked their baba ganoush and falafel. I also tried their gyro and chicken shawarma...I felt like the meat was a little dry (perhaps because I arrived an hour before closing) but still flavorful."

And Anne O. said: "Al Bacha is fast, fresh, clean, and reasonably priced. I've been their twice since they opened, and I'll definitely be back! So far I've tried their Greek fries, gyro, and and gyro salad."

Al Bacha Restaurant is now open at 1833 Broadway., so stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood.
