A New American spot has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to Rittenhouse Square, called The Love, is located at 130 S. 18th Street.
The Love is the latest creation from Aimee Olexy and Stephen Starr, the folks behind popular eateries Talula’s Garden and Talula’s Daily. It features local, seasonal American fare made with sustainable meats, veggies, and grains.
On the starters menu, expect to see dishes like gnocco fritto with mortadella and onion jam, curry pumpkin soup, and crispy duck salad.
For entrees, look for items like seared New England scallops with veggies in a tangerine butter, acorn squash pomodoro with fresh burrata, and a cedar-smoked whole Carolina trout with sprouted kale and spicy pecans.
Rounding things out are seasonal pasta dishes, like ricotta ravioli with butternut squash sauce, or spaghetti with lobster. (You can check out the full menu here.)
The Love has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.
Adam P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 9th, said: "Fantastic! Attended opening night with a group of five, ready to eat and drink. We were not disappointed. Will definitely be back."
Yelper Dan K. added: “Had an amazing meal here last night. The ambiance they created is perfect and feels very upscale, yet inviting. They did an amazing job with the lighting. The cocktails were interesting."
And Sarah L. said: "Went on opening night and it was great! The place was warm, cozy, and relaxed and was beautiful inside. The decor made it feel like home, with a romantic touch."
