A new bar and Asian fusion spot, offering seafood and more, has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Saigon Grill and Bar, the newcomer is located at 222 Glenwood Ave. in Hillsborough.
This new eatery is the creation of restaurateur John Tang and chef Richard Fong, and features a variety of Vietnamese-inspired seafood and street food-style fare.
On the lunch menu, expect to see items like banh mi with lemongrass chicken and avocado, or street vendor tacos with a choice of protein, topped with pickled daikon and carrots.
Switching over to dinner, look for items like Ha Long Bay walnut shrimp with a jicama slaw; grilled swordfish with a jalapeño and mango slaw; and sweet chili chicken with veggies and jasmine rice.
The drink selection includes draft and bottled beer, wine, sake, and more. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival has already made a good impression.
Hamm L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 6th, said: "After several hours on the road, Saigon Grill and Bar was a great place to have a bite, relax and unwind. I had the miso roasted salmon, which was light and refreshing with a savory sweet marinade."
Yelper Jennifer M. added: “Had a delicious banh mi with chicken, avocado, tomato and dressing. The chips that come with it are incredible! They are plant-based and a vegetable, and they are delicious.”
