A new coffee roastery has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Red Beard Coffee Traders, the new arrival is located at 1948 W North Ave. (between Milwaukee Ave. & Damen Ave.) in Wicker Park.
This new coffee roaster was the end result of an appearance on Marcus Lemonis' reality TV show, The Profit. It brings master roaster Steve Sims from Southern California's Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders to run his first Chicago location. There are plans in the works to open at least 12 new Red Beard Coffee Traders in the next year alone.
The roaster bills itself as a farm-to-cup business, working with a variety of farmers from around the globe to source its beans.
At the store, expect to see a variety of roasts to take home by the pound, or enjoy on-site in a variety of popular coffee drinks. There are tea drinks, pastries, and free wifi for those inclined to stay and work, too.
With just one review on Yelp thus far, Red Beard Coffee Traders currently has a five-star rating.
Wesley R., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on November 15th, said: "Fantastic new space for coffee in the neighborhood. Not only is the coffee tasty, but you have options for other drinks as well, such as teas, and frappes and smoothies. Plus desserts and pastries."
