A new Italian spot and wine bar has debuted in the neighborhood. Located at 217 E 8th St. in Downtown, the new arrival is called Anatra.
This new eatery specializes in elevated Italian fare, with three courses on offer for dinner, as well as dessert.
For starters, expect to see items like scallops with a cauliflower purée, mushroom ragu, and pea reduction, or foie gras with poached peaches and cardamom caramel.
For the second course, look for items like bucatini with mortadella meatballs and risotto with pheasant breast and spinach.
Rounding things out with the main course, there are options like short rib with a potato purée and spinach; and duck with celery root purée. (You can view the full menu here.)
Anatra has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.
John D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 6th, said: "Absolutely wonderful! A subtle, dimly lit romantic ambiance to go along with a great meal. We tried the scallops, bucatini with veal meatballs, and and ended with the lemon tart and the cheesecake."
Yelper Mia T. added: “Pleasantly surprised with this gem...three-course meals and dessert menu...had the poached lobster with pancetta purée with pea, bucatini pasta with veal and filet steak and the short rib.”
And Rick D. said: "The food is amazing. Our expectations were exceeded. The 4 of us were blown away with the three course menu and wine & beer selection. We had the scallops and lobster to start. Perfectly cooked."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Anatra is open Friday and Saturday from 6pm–10:30pm and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 6pm–10pm. (It's closed on Monday.)
