If you've got French fries on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The fresh addition to The Greater Third Ward, called The French Fry House, is located at 3221 Ennis St.
This new spot turns French fries into a meal, with a variety of signature potato dishes on offer.
On the menu, expect to see items like "Bayou Fries" with shrimp and crawfish étouffée sauce, "Philly Fries" with steak, grilled peppers and onions and provolone cheese; and "Buffalo Chicken Fries" with fried chicken, buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, cheese and bacon.
There are also boudin egg rolls with sweet chili sauce, and "Plain Jane" fries without all the fixings.
With a five-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, The French Fry House seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Leonis J., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 29th, said: "I love loaded fries, and they get my cosign! Buffalo fries are auto win. Chef Boi Chop's food is always great, the area is laid back, and not far from UofH and TSU...perfect!"
Yelper Deb A. added: “I'm in Houston for the International Quilt Show, and wanted to try a place off the beaten path and a place that had good food...Ordered the buffalo chicken French fries and they did not disappoint."
And Bhayron O. said: "I decided to try something new and I was not disappointed. The people are courteous and warm. The food is addictive! Will definitely recommend and will be a return customer."
