Looking to chow down on some traditional American fare? A new spot has you covered. Called Royal Boucherie, the new addition is located at 52 S. 2nd St. in Old City.

This new brasserie—which comes from Top Chef alumnus Nick Elmi—features a raw bar and charcuterie, French-inspired small plates, and signature main dishes that are billed as light French-American.

For starters, expect to see dishes like olive oil-poached albacore with fermented fennel, a salad of lentil sprouts with duck confit liver, and steak tartare with smoked cheddar and a quail egg.

On the entree side of the menu, look for Pennsylvania duck breast with fermented pears and Swiss chard; sea bream with kuri squash, trumpet mushrooms and pumpkin seed granola; and a house burger with bacon, American cheese, and truffle mayo.

The newcomer has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.

Dani D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 12th, said: "Excellent! The interior is warm and cozy, with an old-school vibe. The drink menu was fun and the cocktails were great. We split a few apps, all of which were very good."

Yelper Hope C. added: “I was excited to hear that Old City was getting a new restaurant. Better yet, it's a French-inspired bistro. It has an old-world, warm and woody feel with great lighting and an eager-to-please staff."

Royal Boucherie is now open at 52 S 2nd St., so stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood.
