Hungry? A new neighborhood Italian spot has you covered. Called Princi, the new addition is located inside the Starbucks Reserve roastery at 1124 Pike St. (between Boren Ave. & Melrose Ave.) on Capitol Hill.
Princi is the first North American outpost from famed Italian baker Rocco Princi, who boasts six locations in Milan and one in London. Like the others, it features an array of Italian baked goods and sandwiches.
Starbucks has partnered with Princi for this American expansion, and plans to open freestanding Princi locations and offer the restaurant's food at all its Reserve locations in the future as well. Expect to see artisan breads; fresh pastries; breakfast fare like steel-cut oats with Italian jam and baked eggs with tomatoes; lunch selections like focaccia sandwiches with salami, mozzarella and roasted veggies; and pizza by the slice. (You can check out all of the offerings here.)
With a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival is getting solid feedback from clientele.
Jason P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 12th, said: "When I heard the new restaurant in the Starbucks Reserve roastery is serving pizza on focaccia, I knew I had to try it out."
Yelper Anne D. added: “Princi is a good fit for the Roastery. I can imagine Starbucks HQ on 1st Ave wouldn't be as glamorous to tour if they chose to offer them (love that 12th Man flag though!)"
And Marie B. said: "Princi has freshly-made-on-the-premises lunch-type items, assorted focaccia/pizza slices, artisan breads, tarts, pastries, and decadent desserts...really it is a dazzling assortment of Italian specialties."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Princi is open daily from 7am–11pm.
