Craving pizza? You're in luck: a new business has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 220 W 33rd (between Indiana Ave. & Prairie Ave.) in Armour Square, the new arrival is called Stix n Brix Wood Fired Pizza.
This new pizzeria—helmed by the same folks who run Red Line Cafe, located next door—specializes in wood-fired pies and Italian-inspired salads and sides.
On the menu, expect to see signature pizzas like potato and ricotta with white sauce, fresh mozzarella and rosemary; a housemade sopressata pie with sea salt, parmesan, and fresh basil; and the "Fig and Pig," with a white sauce, fig jam, prosciutto, parmesan, and fresh mozzarella.
There are also sides and salads to accompany the pies, like a four-way bruschetta with roasted eggplant, tomatoes, and portobello mushrooms and an apple salad with mixed greens, caramelized walnuts, onions, and sun-dried pesto in balsamic vinaigrette. (You can view the full menu here.)
With a 4.5-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp so far, Stix n Brix has been warmly received by patrons.
Haley V., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 9th, said: "Excellent pizza and starters at a great neighborhood spot. All made fresh, with the highest-quality ingredients."
Yelper Daniel W. added: “This place has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. I came a week after it opened and the owner came over for feedback. The pizza was very good."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Stix n Brix is open Wednesday–Sunday from 4pm–9pm. (It's closed on Monday and Tuesday.)
