A new cafe has arrived in the neighborhood. The new addition to Lake View, called Capital One Café, is located at 3435 N. Southport Ave. (between Cornelia Ave. & Newport Ave.)
This new café, located inside the Capital One banking center, is billed as a space to hang out with free wifi, hold community meetings, attend "Money Workshops," or enjoy a cup of Peet's Coffee. You can even meet with one of the "ambassadors" to answer banking questions, open an account, and more.
On the menu, expect to see a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and pastries and bagels supplied by Peet's, similar to what's found at the roaster's more traditional brick-and-mortar locations.
Capital One Café has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.
Nari H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 18th, said: "A very large and dual-floor cafe with good lighting and a full-fledged Peet's Coffee inside. It's also super close to the brown line and close to all shopping on Roscoe."
Yelper Catherine V. added: “Great place to go and work. Their regular coffee is decent and desserts are good. The cafe staff is wonderful. There are a lot of seats and natural light."
And Alan D. said: "Very spacious and quiet place to do work and/or meet with people. Unlike most coffee shops, there isn't really much music playing in the background, so you won't be disturbed."
