If you've got Chinese on the mind, a recent opening is need-to-know. The new addition to the International District, called H Bistro, is located at 606 S. Weller St. (between S 6th Ave. & S Maynard Ave.)
This new spot features an array of Chinese culinary mainstays. The menu is extensive, so expect to see a wide range of appetizers, soups, veggie dishes, and chef's specials.
On the appetizer side of the menu, look for salt and pepper chicken wings, deep-fried egg rolls, spicy jelly fish, and green mustard prawns.
Chef specials include dishes like deep-fried squab, salt and pepper pork spare ribs, mixed mushroom hot pot, melons with diced scallops, and rack of lamb with honey and pepper sauce.
Rounding things out are soups, like crab and fish maw o seafood and crispy rice.
The newcomer has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.
Hong N., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on November 9th, said: "Had a really great experience at this place for lunch with my two coworkers. We ordered the beef chow fun dry and honey walnut shrimp and lemon chicken. All were delicious."
Yelper Charlene J. added: “Decent addition to the International District! It's cleaner than a lot of other Chinese restaurants in the area. The lunch specials (entree+rice+soup) here are cheap, and the regular menu items are decently priced."
And Charlie Y. said: "I went there with my family last Sunday and had the preorder fish which tasted amazing! I will definitely be back more often in the future to try out everything on their menu!"
