A new American spot has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Bellemore, the newcomer is located at 564 W Randolph St. (between Jefferson St. & Clinton St.) in West Loop.
This new elevated eatery is the latest addition from restaurant group Boka Group (Swift and Sons, Somerset). Chef Jimmy Papadopoulos, formerly of Bohemian House, helms the kitchen.
For starters, look for light bites like Hawaiian rolls with country ham, cultured butter, and smoked sesame seeds; and venison tartare with trumpet mushrooms, Tokyo turnips, and picked pears.
For the second course, expect to see dishes like razor clams with crispy sweet potatoes; and foie gras with raisin marmalade and cinnamon raisin toast.
Switching over to the main course, there are entrees like brown butter-roasted cod with cauliflower, king salmon spiced with toasted berbere and rutabaga, and dry-aged duck glazed with burnt honey and served with fennel.
With a 4.5-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, Bellemore is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Kaitlin H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on December 5th, said: "Perfection from start to finish. We came for dinner before the opera and were blown away."
Yelper Kelsey K. added: “We tried the mackerel and the lamb belly appetizers, just to whet our appetites a bit. They were both complex and delicious. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu, because if this is any indication, it's sure to be mind-blowing."
And Alee B. said: "I was really excited for Bellemore to open. I've been a fan of Chef Jimmy for a while and never had a meal from him miss the mark."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Bellemore is open Friday and Saturday from 5pm–11pm, and Sunday–Thursday from 5pm–10pm.
