Looking for a new steakhouse to check out? Look no further than this new arrival. Located at 1650 W Loop S. in Greater Uptown, the new arrival is called Mastro's.
Founded in Scottsdale, Arizona, the upscale Mastro's chain now has locations around the country. Like the other outposts, the new Houston location "sophisticated, classic" fare like shrimp cocktail, oysters Rockefeller, and even a selection of sushi.
But the main event is definitely the steaks, with options ranging from a petite 6-ounce filet all the way up to a 48-ounce double-cut porterhouse. They're accompanied by traditional steakhouse sides like loaded twice-baked potatoes, creamed spinach, and "colossal" onion rings. There's also a fully-stocked wine cellar, with a large selection of rare and pricey vintages.
With a 3.5-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival is getting solid feedback from clientele.
Timothy G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on December 18th, said: "I wish I could rate this place six stars. Made reservations for my wife's birthday. Once we were dropped off, the experience started. The valets opened the door and all I can say is 'Wow!'"
And Vicki G. said: "I loved the presentation of the shrimp cocktail! The shrimp were large and fresh. My husband and I each ordered our steaks medium rare, and they came out cooked perfectly!"
Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Mastro's is open Monday–Saturday from 5pm–11pm, and Sunday from 5pm–10pm.
