A new bakery and breakfast and brunch spot, offering coffee and tea and more, has made its debut in the neighborhood. The fresh addition to University City, called Pret, is located at 2955 Market St.
This new café—located at the 30th Street Station—is the third Philadelphia locale for the U.K.-based international chain, which boasts more than 450 outposts worldwide. The other two Philly locations are on the UPenn campus.
For coffee drinks, expect to see offerings such as light and dark roast brewed coffee and latte variations flavored with hazelnut, vanilla and caramel.
If you're in the mood for a bite, look for a variety of breakfast options like an egg white Greek omelet with feta, parmesan, red peppers and spinach; an almond butter and banana bagel, and a Southwestern wrap with bacon and refried black bean salsa.
There's an array of lunch and dinner items on offer as well such as soups, salads, sandwiches and "Pret Pots," which include ingredients like mango and turmeric puree layered with sliced banana, apples, shredded coconut and crunchy granola. (Take a look at the full menu here.)
The new bakery has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.
Andrea F., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on February 7th, said: "I'm so happy we finally got a viable lunch option in 30th Street Station! I've been here three times and have yet to be disappointed—this might very well be my new go-to."
Yelper Chelsea S. added: “Brand new to 30th street. This cafe has coffee, tea and something I tried called a matcha latte. It was a tasty change of pace. It's pretty much green tea with milk, but I enjoyed having something different to drink before my train.”
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Pret is open 24 hours a day.
