A new traditional American and breakfast and brunch spot, offering seafood and more, has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 4201 Ridge Ave. in East Falls, the new addition is called Le Bus East Falls.

This newcomer—located in the former space of Johnny Mañana's, which closed in 2016—is the first new restaurant venture in 25 years from LeBus Bakery' David Braverman, who began his career in 1978 selling sandwiches, snacks and coffee out of the window of a converted school bus on the U Penn campus.

He's since opened other café and bakery locations throughout the greater Philadelphia area, including one at the international airport.

On the menu, expect to seen an array of breakfast and brunch items such as a Mexican frittata with manchego cheese, topped with salsa and lime crema; a shrimp and oyster po' boy with roasted Anaheim peppers; and a pan-seared chicken breast with wild mushrooms and a sunny-side up egg.

There's a full lunch menu, too, with a variety of burgers, sandwiches and entrées like steak frites and baked mac and cheese with tomatoes and broccoli. (You can check out the full menu here.)

With a 4.5-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp so far, Le Bus East Falls is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Lisa W., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on February 3rd, said: "Fantastic meal, drinks and service! This wonderful new addition to East Falls will be a big hit. We had delicious soup, burgers, cioppino and peach cobbler. The interior is beautiful."

Yelper Kevin T. added: “Went on the third night they were open so take that into consideration. Place looks great...excellent renovation. Menu is solid. Great hummus app.”

And Justin F. said: "Much-needed and appreciated brunch spot in East Falls! Made a reservation today for brunch and was seated very quickly (despite it being their grand opening weekend)."
