Here's an overview of notable incidents reported around the Castro since our last crime roundup.

All reports come from the police department's daily recaps, unless otherwise noted.

Man arrested after fire scare

On March 11th at 6:53pm, a 51-year-old man set a microwave on fire in his room near Dolores and 15th. Responders found that the man had also disabled multiple fire safety devices, leading to his arrest.

Resident awakes, finds burglar

On March 8th at 6am, a 37-year-old man awoke to find a 35-year-old male suspect in the entryway of his residence near Noe and 15th. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction. No losses were reported and no arrest was made.

Muni elevator arsonist eludes arrest

On March 4th at 9pm, a 40-year-old man started a fire inside a Muni elevator at Market and Church. The suspect then exited the fire-damaged elevator and fled the scene before an arrest could be made.

Burglar arrested after trying to kick in door

On February 27th at 9am, a 37-year-old male suspect kicked an apartment door near Noe and 14th. A 28-year-old male resident who was inside during the attempted entry chased the suspect, who was then arrested. No losses or injuries were reported.

2-Alarm fire damages alleged drug house

On February 23rd at 10:35am, SFFD units were alerted to a fire at 517-519 Sanchez St., a property that had been cited in the past for creating a public nuisance. The fire was extinguished at 12:02pm, leaving the interior gutted and the exterior mostly intact.
