Friedman's

228 W. 47th St. (between 7th Ave. & Broadway)

Family-owned eatery Friedman's recently opened a new outpost inside the Hotel Edison. The restaurant offers gluten-free American fare. 

On the menu, look for offerings like the skirt steak with sunny-side eggs and crispy yucca, the pastrami reuben sandwich with sauerkraut, and fried chicken and cheddar waffle with habanero honey. (Take a look at the full menu here.)

With a four-star Yelp rating out 88 reviews, Friedman's has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Shari C. wrote, "Our food was delicious, flavorful and fresh. The service was excellent as well. IMO, some of the dishes are a tad pricey for brunch, but this place is worth a try if you're in the area."

Omakasa

Casual dining establishment Omakasa specializes in healthy cuisine from several Asian regions. Look for offerings like chicken matzo ramen with beech mushrooms and house-made chili crisps, vegan black bolognese with Brussels sprouts and barley, and chickpea coconut curry with squash and sunflower sprouts.

Yelp users are excited about Omakasa, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of 15 reviews on the site.

Sichuan Manor

Sichuan Manor debuted in the former Sammy's House of BBQ space, specializing in elevated Sichuan fare and dim sum. 

On the extensive menu, look for a wide range of noodle offerings, including spicy and sour beef noodle soup and Sichuan-style noodles with soybean paste.

Dishes include sizzling chicken with hot green peppers, Chengdu-style roast duck in broth and Sichuan skewers with chili sauce. (Take a look at the full menu here.)
