A new Greek and Mediterranean spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located at 1901 J St. in midtown Sacramento, the fresh addition is called Jyros Twisted Gyros.
The eatery comes courtesy of Jared Katzenbarger, also the franchisee of the previous restaurant in the space, Dickey's Barbecue Pit. This is Katzenbarger's first independent concept, he said in a statement.
Like its name indicates, Jyros offers a modern twist on traditional Greek eats, with ingredients like naan and al pastor pork, as well as sauces like sriracha and cilantro lime. Diners can build and customize their own meals, which include sandwiches, gyros, bowls, salads and loaded fries.
Sides include chimichurri rice, fries and and couscous. (Take a look at the full menu here.)
With a four-star rating out of 28 reviews on Yelp so far, Jyros Twisted Gyros is getting solid feedback from clientele.
Jason R., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on February 27th, said, "Jyro's is just what Sacramento needed. I came expecting a standard Greek gyro, but was pleasantly surprised with the fresh twist on Greek traditions."
Yelper Steph G. added, “I'm mad it's so good! Thankful for friends who let me know about new spots and suggested we try it. I was happy to see this new spot was somewhere that has free parking on the Grid.”
Head on over to check it out: Jyros Twisted Gyros is open Friday and Saturday from 11am–3am, and Sunday–Thursday from 11am–9pm.
