Where are the hottest events going down in Los Angeles this week? A German-meets-American rock show

The minds behind cult rock label Burger Records are putting together a free showcase of artists from both the U.S. and Germany, with California groups The Allah-Las and Peach Kelli Pop teaming up for a show with Germany's Fenster and Swearing at Motorists. It's first-come, first-served, so arrive early to ensure you get in. 

The event is part of the Waterweek festival, which "brings together artists, musicians and activists from the creative cities of Hamburg, Berlin, Kampala and Los Angeles to showcase cross-border cultural and artistic collaborations and raise awareness of the need for free access to potable water, sanitation and hygiene worldwide."

A food and wine tasting for LGBTQ+ causes

Simply diVine is "the premiere food and wine event for LGBT people and their allies," offering "extraordinary food and drink from L.A.'s most popular eateries, wineries, distilleries, breweries and more!" Participating restaurants include Connie & Ted's, Kismet, Odys + Penelope, Gracias Madre, and many more. 

All proceeds support the "life-changing and life-saving programs and services" offered by the Los Angeles LGBT Center; VIP tickets also include access to an exclusive lounge with private bartenders from The Abbey, tastings of rare and high-end wines, live music, and more.

A free screening of a Best Picture winner

Missed out on catching Moonlight, last year's Oscar Best Picture winner—or just want to see it again? The UCLA Psychiatry Clinical Faculty Association is hosting a free screening of the film, which depicts three chapters in the life of a young man growing up in poverty in Miami, as he comes to terms with his family and his sexuality.

A pre-movie reception will include free food and drinks, with a post-screening discussion of the movie's themes and their relevance to mental health.

According to Adidas, "the event is a special one-day-only pop-up revealing limited releases, and exclusive collaborations brought to life across three unexpected environments—all conceptualized by Na-Kel himself."
