A new halal and Middle Eastern spot has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called The Halal Guys, the fresh arrival is located at 2550 Grant Ave., #320, in Pennypack in far northeast Philadelphia.
The chain, which started 25 years ago as a cart in New York City, marinates its chicken overnight and serves it "fresh from the grill to your plate."
The menu includes sandwiches or platters made with chicken, beef gyro meat or falafel, topped with sauce. Round out the meal with a side of hummus or baklava.
The newest Halal Guys has proven popular thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.
Andrea M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 19th, said, "So flavorful! The hot sauce adds such a nice flavor and the white sauce complements the heat, cooling it down a little while adding additional flavors."
