"Join us as we learn the art and technique of plating with Chef Jenny Dorsey, a culinary consultant and entrepreneur, former Chopped contestant, Beat Bobby Flay winner, and founder of the supper club, Wednesdays. We’ll also be joined by food photographer Petar Mitrovic, who will teach us how to capture the essence of each dish through our cameras and phones. Embark on a craft beer crawl for National Beer Day
First Fridays Pub Crawl is "celebrating National Beer Day with two of our favorite classic breweries from California, Stone Brewing Company and Sierra Nevada. We'll be hitting up some fave Hell's Kitchen spots with drink specials, giveaways and more, all while enjoying bottomless Sierra Nevada & Stone drafts at each location." Admission includes an unlimited open beer bar from 5-9pm; you're also welcome to attend sans ticket, but you'll be on the hook for buying your own beers.

"Ready for the ultimate pizza-making party?" ask the organizers of this cooking class for kids aged 7-12. "We're joining Chef Nick and Chef Amber for a hands-on lesson in how to make traditional Roman-inspired pizzas at the brand-new restaurant Martina. Fresh cheeses, meats, and vegetables will be chopped, prepped, and seasoned as kids create their signature pie. We'll even try our hand at flipping pizza dough to get that perfect pizza shape."

Sip locally made gin and whiskey at a tasting
At this tasting at De Wine Spot, Brooklyn's own New York Distilling Co. will be offering sips of three of their artisanal liquors: Dorothy Parker Gin, a classic and feminine gin with juniper, orange, lemon, grapefruit, cardamom, cinnamon, elderberry and dried hibiscus petals; Perry's Tot Navy Strength Gin, an aromatic high-proof gin inspired by the historical gins of the Navy; and Ragtime Rye Whiskey, made with rye and corn grown in New York State.
