Spend your cheat day at a bread tasting
No one knows more about bread than the French, which makes the Alliance Francaise the best place in town to learn the difference between a baguette and a levain. "Maison Kayser, the new baker in town, hails from Paris, France and brings tradition to your palate," write the organizers. "Join us to taste and discover everything you always have wanted to know about bread! A glass of bubbles will close the tasting." (And don't worry about a language barrier—the class is in English.)

"Whatever flavor—be it alternative, rock, pop, R&B, hip-hop, or country—if it's 90s, we'll play it," say the members of White Ford Bronco, which has been rocking the D.C. area since 2008. "If you're longing for the days when Danny Tanner could solve everything with a hug and presidential scandals only involved ruining a marriage, allow us to take you on a musical journey to that magical last decade of the 20th century."

Laugh with top comedians direct from NYC
The organizers of this event promise "a night of stand-up comedy from some of the best and funniest folks in the NYC comedy scene for one night only in the showroom of the Town Tavern. This monthly showcase features professional, touring hysterical comedians and will undoubtably be a night to remember! Stick around after the show for a DJed dance party." Headliners this month include Jordan Raybould (Caroline's, UCB), Bret Raybould (Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Stand-Up New York Comedy Festival), and Will Poznan (Questionable Taste Podcast, Dangerfield's).

Bring the little ones for a morning of games
If you've got a tot aged 3 to 5 who loves games and puzzles, enlist them in Labyrinth Games' First Moves Club. According to the organizers, "Kids will play all sorts of great games designed to help dexterity and logic, math and language, and social skills, including taking turns, winning and losing with grace, and following directions. You may drop your child off or play with them as you prefer. This offers the perfect opportunity to get a free hour to explore Eastern Market or have a cup of coffee."

The organizers of this event promise a Saturday morning to remember for the over-21 set, with a library of over 100 cartoon series from the 1940s through the early 2000s, an all-you-can-eat cereal bar, and specialty cocktails themed after bygone breakfast treats, like a Cocoa Puffs-infused white Russian.
