If you're looking for something to eat that's more exciting than the frozen pizza waiting for you at home, consider visiting one of Cleveland's quality pizzerias. But with so many to choose from, where should you head for the best slice?
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top pizza spots in Cleveland, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of the city's best pizza joints that'll be sure to satisfy any pizza enthusiast.
Check out our list, below.
1. Crust

Good pizza starts with a good crust, so maybe it's not surprising that Crust topped our list. Located at 2258 Professor Ave. in Tremont, the restaurant is the highest-rated pizza spot in Cleveland, boasting 4.5 stars out of 181 reviews on Yelp.
Crust offers a range of Italian-inspired menu items, like hand-rolled pasta, subs and salads, but it's better known for its pizza, which it sells by the slice and by the pie. Specialty favorites include the Lemon Rosemary Chicken, the Ham & Eggs, and the Hot Stuffed Banana Pepper.
2. Citizen Pie

Next up is North Shore Collinwood's Citizen Pie, situated at 15710 Waterloo Rd. With 4.5 stars out of 120 reviews on Yelp, the restaurant is a proven local favorite.
Citizen Pie offers both red-sauce pizzas, like the Smoked Pepperoni, the Little Italy and the classic Margherita, and white-sauce pies, such as the Pesto Animal, the Spinach and the Calabrese. You can also customize your own Neapolitan-style pie, with a laundry list of toppings and sauces from which to choose.
3. Vincenza's Pizza & Pasta

Vincenza's Pizza & Pasta, located at 603 Prospect Ave. E., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the Italian spot 4.5 stars out of 87 reviews.
The eatery has won several "Best of Cleveland" awards, and it offers a range of thin crust, stuffed crust, deep-dish and sheet pizzas. Standouts include the Artichoke & Tomatoes Chicago-style deep dish pizza and the Buffalo Chicken New York-style pie.
4. XYZ the Tavern

XYZ the Tavern, in Detroit Shoreway, is another pizza destination, with four stars out of 193 Yelp reviews. Head over to 6419 Detroit Ave. to see for yourself.
The casual-dining spot has a diverse menu, but if you're going for pizza, you'll have to get a Serious Slice New York-style street pizza, which is great either in its cheesy plain state or smothered in the toppings of your choosing. Look for happy hour deals on weekdays.
5. Dante Next Door

Rounding out our top five is a place over in Tremont called Dante Next Door, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 61 reviews on Yelp. You can find the popular brunch spot at 2247 Professor Ave.
On the menu, 10-inch hand-tossed pizza options include the Everything Bagel and Lox, the Breakfast Calzone and the Dante's Inferno. The Bianco, which has garlic, goat cheese, red onion, truffle honey and pistachio nuts, is another crowd-pleaser.
