Climb your way to an intense workout at Rise Nation Dallas, which uses the zero-impact VersaClimber. Popular with celebrities like LeBron James, the vertical climbing movement engages all of the major muscle groups and promotes spinal alignment while burning calories, the gym explains on its website.

There are three leveled, 30-minute classes: the slower-paced Level 1 for beginners; the higher tempo Level 2; and the high-intensity, extreme elevation Level 3. Expect to climb from 700 to 6,000 feet during a class, depending on fitness level.

With a five-star Yelp rating out of four reviews, Rise Nation Dallas has been getting positive attention.

Yelper Lauren T., who reviewed Rise Nation Dallas on April 16, wrote, "If you enjoy running (or if you force yourself to run for cardio), this class is a great alternative when you don't want to hit the pavement. I'm not one to do cardio on workout machines (I prefer doing cardio outside), but Rise Nation was so awesome that I wouldn't think twice about skipping the outdoors for this workout!"

And D M. said, "The most incredible workout ambience, combined with a very challenging and fun climb."

Rise Nation Dallas is open daily from 6 a.m.–7:30 p.m.

Barry's Bootcamp Dallas, an international fitness chain, claims to be "the best workout in the world."

Offering classes throughout the day, the gym offers high-intensity workouts that alternate between stints on a treadmill and strength training. Barry's Bootcamp — with studios in the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Mideast — says its classes can burn up to 1,000 calories, while toning muscle and boosting metabolism. From Monday to Thursday, the studio focuses on different muscle groups, switching to full-body workouts Friday through Sunday.

Barry's Bootcamp Dallas' current Yelp rating of 4.5 stars out of four reviews indicates positive attention from users.

Yelper Jacqueline M., who reviewed Barry's Bootcamp Dallas on April 12, wrote, "The staff here — from the front-desk attendants to the trainers to the smoothie bar staff — are super friendly and make an effort to know your name. The space is clean and the locker rooms, like other Barry's locations, are equipped with Oribe products, which is a major plus."

Alex J. added, "Only come here if you are serious about getting your (butt) kicked! ... The instructors are nice and won't embarrass you, they just encourage!"

Barry's Bootcamp Dallas is open weekdays from 6 a.m.–8 p.m., Saturday from 6:45 a.m.–2 p.m., and Sunday from 7:45 a.m.–6 p.m.
