The Rodeo Goat burger spot and bar has opened its latest Texas outpost in the up-and-coming EaDo neighborhood. Located at 2118 Lamar St., Suite 102, it's just blocks from Minute Maid Park.
Rodeo Goat's newest location offers a full slate of inventive burgers, like the "Olivia Darling" made with kalamata olive tapenade, arugula salad and herb cheese spread; and the sweet and savory "Sugar Burger," featuring candied bacon, grilled peaches, caramelized onions and jalapeño jam.
Local celebrities also make the menu, with the "Marvin Zindler" named for the longtime newscaster, and the "Billy F Gibbons" for the ZZ Top guitarist.
For non-beef eaters, Rodeo Goat will substitute the red meat with chicken, turkey, veggie or quinoa patties. View the full menu on their website.
The robust drink menu is stocked with nearly 100 brews, including 20 craft beers produced in Texas, cocktails and a section devoted to whiskey, bourbon and Scotch.
Owned by restaurateur Shannon Wynne and his partners, Keith Schlabs and Larry Richardson, the company is behind several Texas restaurants, including Flying Fish in Houston and Meddlesome Moth in Dallas, reports the Houston Business Journal.
With a five-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp so far, the new arrival is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Trevor C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on April 2nd, said, "I'm so glad that EaDo finally has a gourmet burger joint. My burger was fantastic! Great quality meat and fries. There are plenty of beers and cocktails to pair your burger with."
And Jackie K. said, "We tried Rodeo Goat for lunch and really liked it. The restaurant is located just east of downtown, just by SeaSide Poke and Chapman & Kirby. The restaurant has a nice patio too, with a couple of games and is dog-friendly."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Rodeo Goat is open Friday and Saturday from 11am–midnight, and Sunday–Thursday from 11am–11pm.
