Hat Creek Burger Company
8185 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 1400, Lake Highlands

Hat Creek Burger Company is a spot to score burgers and more.
The Austin-based fast-food chain debuted its first Dallas location in McKinney last October. This new Walnut Hill outpost is one of four slated to open in the area this year.
Hat Creek, which got its start as a food truck in Austin, is best known for its never-frozen hamburger patties, breakfast tacos and inventive milkshakes, like the Dirt Worms milkshake, which is mixed with Oreos and chocolate and then topped with gummy worms.
Hat Creek Burger Company's current Yelp rating of four stars out of two reviews indicates the newcomer is finding its way, but it's still early days.
Yelper Pam C., one of the first to review the new spot, said, "My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch. I had the classic and she had the bacon cheddar chicken ... Don't miss the sauce bar to dip your pickles and tots."
Hat Creek Burger Company is open from 7 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 7 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Village Burger Bar
1845 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Suite 200, Downtown

Village Burger Bar is a locally owned and operated build-your-own-burger bar.
The homegrown chain, founded by husband-and-wife duo Mike and Susan Matta, now has five locations across Dallas, Allen and Plano.
Diners can top a beef, turkey or veggie patty or grilled chicken with an array of cheeses, sauces and fresh vegetables. The menu also features a variety of starters, salads, paninis and Cheffed-Up burger selections, like the Southwest Turkey with jalapeno jack cheese, baby spinach, tomato and avocado oil.
And to help wash all that down, there's a full bar with craft beers and cocktails.
Village Burger Bar currently holds 4.5 stars out of 18 reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.
Yelper Rick B., who reviewed Village Burger Bar on February 21, wrote, "Did we need another build-your-own burger joint with a full bar? YES! ... VBB does good old burgers right!"
Yelper F M. wrote, "They have a good happy hour (5-7 p.m.), and the dine-in and patio atmosphere is wonderful. VBB will definitely be one of our hang-outs this summer."
Village Burger Bar is open from 11 a.m.–midnight on Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday.
Pints & Quarts
3111 Welborn St., Oak Lawn

Pints & Quarts is another spot to score burgers, fries, craft beers, cocktails and more.
The expanding local chain, run by restaurateur and bar owner Brooke Humphries (Barcadia, Beauty Bar, Mudsmith), originally debuted in 2015 as a burger and beer stand at Ross and Greenville avenues.
This new location offers a selection of loaded burgers — like the Brooke's Burger with American cheese and "Dale's secret sauce," or the Chili Willie with house cheese sauce, Texas-style chili, white onions and Fritos — plus the option to choose your own toppings. There are also sandwiches, salads, french fries, milkshakes and, according to the Dallas Observer, one of the best hot dogs in town.
The burger and beer shop is connected to its sister cafe Mudsmith Coffee, and meals are delivered to patrons wherever they choose to sit.
Yelp users are generally positive about Pints & Quarts, which currently holds four stars out of nine reviews on the site.
Yelper Kate P., who was one of the first users to visit Pints & Quarts on February 15, wrote, "This is my new favorite burger spot in Dallas. I love the old-fashioned style of the burgers and can't get enough of their secret sauce."
And Yelper Dean D. added, "I have no idea what possessed me but I orders their veggie burger with a side of black-eyed peas. ... I have no regrets: the patty was flavorful, not rubbery, and like a good meat burger ended up being a two-handed multi-napkin treat."
Pints & Quarts is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
