Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top diners in Seattle, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to satisfy your cravings.
1. Cj's Eatery

Topping the list is CJ's Eatery. Located at 2619 First Ave. (between Vine and Cedar streets) in Belltown, the traditional American breakfast and brunch spot is the highest rated diner in Seattle, boasting four stars out of 609 reviews on Yelp.
According to its website, CJ's Eatery has been a local favorite place to dine in the Seattle area for the past 18 years. On the menu, look for a variety of classic comfort food fare such as pancakes, sandwiches, eggs benedict, burgers and more. (Check out the full menu here.)
2. Ludi's

Next up is Central Business District's Ludi's, situated at 200 Pike St. (between Third and Second avenues). With four stars out of 376 reviews on Yelp, the traditional American and Filipino eatery has proven to be a local favorite.
"This diner is a great spot to get a quick eat and be full by the time you finish," said Yelper Kimberly Y. "Breakfast all day with some lunch/entree options." Come try the ube pancakes (hotcakes with purple yams) or pork chops served with garlic rice.
3. Planet Java Diner

Pioneer Square's Planet Java Diner, located at 72 S. Washington St. (between South First and Western avenues), is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the 1950s-style diner four stars out of 293 reviews.
The food is a "shout-out to the simple, cheap and hearty fare of the greasy spoons of yesteryear," reports The Seattle Times, with menu items ranging from classic breakfast favorites to burgers and baskets. (See the menu here.)
4. North Star Diner & Shanghai Room

North Star Diner & Shanghai Room, a diner and dive bar in Greenwood, is another go-to, with four stars out of 203 Yelp reviews. Head over to 8580 Greenwood Ave. North (between 87th and 85th streets) to see for yourself.
Having taken over the former location of Chinese restaurant Yen Wor Garden, this diner is the perfect spot to "eat a chicken fried steak after the show" or to "bring Grandma in for a breakfast she can recognize." Come indulge in some pancakes drenched in syrup or drink and sing to your heart's content in the darkened Shanghai Room.
5. Café Nordstrom

Over in the Central Business District, check out Café Nordstrom, which has earned four stars out of 175 reviews on Yelp. You can find this diner and New American spot at 500 Pine St. (between Sixth and Fifth avenues).
Located within the Nordstrom department store, this restaurant offers contemporary takes on American classics. Menu offerings include fresh organic salads, housemade pizzas and hearty sandwiches as well as main entrees such as pan-seared chicken with creamy garlic vinaigrette and asparagus quiche.
