On Wednesday, May 2, the Burroughs varsity softball team won its away conference game against Muir by a score of 19-5.

The Indians connected bat to ball 22 times in a lopsided contest that started closer than it ended.

After the second inning, the two teams were tied 3-3; however, Burroughs produced an eight run inning in the third and never looked back. The Mustangs came up with two runs in the fourth, but the Indians boosted their offensive output into overdrive, bringing in eight more runs in the game’s final three innings.

The last time these two teams met on April 5, Burroughs beat Muir 24-0. The Mustangs have struggled all season, slipping to 3-17 following Wednesday’s walloping. The team is 0-8 at home and has now lost 10 straight games.

With Wednesday’s win, Burroughs improved to 11-3-1 on the season, with an impressive 10-1 league record. The Indians will square off against the Arcadia Apaches later today at 3:15 p.m. at Arcadia High School.
